Why Use Graphics?

  • Spark engagement
People watch as ideas take shape before their eyes. Live sketching invites curiosity and attention.

  • Simplify the complex
A quick sketch can cut through confusion and create shared understanding quickly.

  • Boost retention
Visuals stick! People remember what they see, even after the session ends.

  • Inclusive
Graphics support neurodivergent thinkers, quieter participants and anyone who processes better visually. Sessions are clearer, engaging and more fun for everyone.

  • Give you the edge
Drawing live, even with simple graphics, shows your confidence, creativity and leadership. It sets your sessions apart and gets people talking - in a good way!

Can we make online sessions less boring?

Drawing live on screen keeps remote participants focused, intrigued by the novelty and power of simple graphics.

I'd like to capture what happens in real time

Graphics Made Easy

We draw big! Drawing on large boards in front of others builds confidence. Flip charts feel really easy afterwards.

Other Courses

Tend to use flip charts or smaller pieces of paper.

Graphics Made Easy

Designed by a Master facilitator and author, who models being 'perfectly imperfect' as she uses graphics. She's used visuals to solve problems and facilitate for decades.

Other Courses

Designed by people who focus on visuals

Graphics Made Easy

In-person - a live, tactile experience with other people. Try the tools. Enjoy the lunch.

Flip through the books. Smell the pens.

Other Courses

Usually online

Graphics Made Easy

Ongoing online sessions to embed the learning and help you apply it, so you get the best combination of in-person and online!

Other Courses

Tend to be all online, or all in-person

Graphics Made Easy

Building your confidence is as important as developing your competence with visuals.

Other Courses

Perhaps less focused on building confidence and having fun as you learn?

Meet Dr Penny Pullan CPF-Master

Penny is a Certified Professional Facilitator (Master). She has decades of experience helping people find their own facilitation style and unlock their creativity along the way. She’s known for helping people move from “I can’t draw” to drawing with confidence in a single day!

Penny originally trained as an engineer (PhD, Cambridge), where drawing was the default way of understanding complex problems. Putting something visual on paper clarifies your thinking and helps create shared understanding with others. That habit never left her.

She has used graphics with leaders and teams across tech, pharma, finance, universities, government and charities, and now brings them into leadership teaching on Durham MA modules. Even in complex, high-pressure environments, simple graphics cut through, connect people and create engagement, especially where words alone don’t. They’re a lot more fun too.

Many facilitators worry about drawing in public. This workshop is designed as a safe, supportive space where laughter and exploration are part of the process. Penny models that herself, using simple, expressive graphics that prioritise clarity and speed over perfection. She calls them “perfectly imperfect” — they stand out as human in a world of AI images and computer-generated straight lines.

Penny is also a bestselling author and signs a copy of Making Workshops Work for each participant. You’ll leave with practical graphic tools, your own visual style, plus the confidence to use them straight away in your work.
